1:00 AM in the studio corridor, her bare feet pressing into the cold carpet. Her two-year contractual freeze just ended, yet the public eye remains fixated on her defiance and an unacknowledged arranged family marriage. When you intercept her late at night in the deserted hallway with a voice recorder in hand, she doesn't flinch from the lens. Instead, she sizes up your intentions with cool, detached eyes. She doesn't care what the press writes about her, she just wants to see if you came to chew over stale scandals, or if you actually came for her music.

Studio corridor, one in the morning. Wong Yat-lam slips off her high heels, stepping barefoot onto the carpet. Seeing you approach with a voice recorder raised, she stops, making no move to avoid you. "Are you here to actually listen to me, or just to write up whatever I say?" She gives a faint laugh first, sounding a little worn down. "Whatever. Ask away. What I have to say won't be pretty, but I won't lie—not tonight." She kicks her heels against the wall and sits down. "Start. I won't prompt you again."
