AI Dungeon's own listing calls it an AI-native RPG and text-adventure generator: you start a prebuilt, community or custom scenario, type what you do, and the AI narrates the world and its characters, helped by Story Cards and Memory Banks. Prelulu is narrower on purpose: one character, one conversation, and a live call when you want it. This Prelulu-published documentation comparison uses sources reviewed October 24, 2026. We do not report live status. AI Dungeon's own Guidebook status page points to status.latitude.io for real-time system status; its most recent listed incident, when we checked on October 24, 2026, was June 13, 2025. Check there, and the Reddit updates that page links to, before assuming your account has a problem.

Here is what AI Dungeon's own documents say, not our verdict. Its terms, revised April 22, 2026, require users to be at least 13 and put an age limit on some features, and say your inputs and outputs may be used to train its AI, subject to any user controls offered. Its privacy policy page, last revised September 25, 2023, states a different, higher minimum age. The App Store rates it 13+ and Google Play rates it Teen. Read the current terms before you or a family member signs up.

Yes. Latitude publishes AI Dungeon: RPG & Story Maker on the App Store and on Google Play, and it also plays on the web. Its Steam version was retired in early 2024, according to its Guidebook. Prelulu also runs in the browser and in iPhone and Android apps.

The store listings, Guidebook pages and terms we reviewed on October 24, 2026 describe text adventures, AI images and multiplayer, but do not establish live voice or video calls. That is a documentation limit, not proof a feature is missing. Prelulu offers credit-based live voice calls and avatar video calls on supported characters.

You can paste an original or authorized character description into Prelulu's character-profile importer on the web, review the editable draft and create it. Your AI Dungeon adventures, Story Cards, memberships and Credits do not transfer, because the services are not connected. A live video call is available only after the character's required media is ready.
