AI Anime Girlfriend: Text Her, Call Her, See Her Answer
An AI anime girlfriend, or AI waifu, on Prelulu is an original anime-style character you can text, call and see on a live video call: a kitsune shrine maiden, a catgirl who claims your lap, an idol who only has eyes for you. She stays in character, remembers what matters in your chats and answers in her own voice. Texting is free every day; calls use credits.
Definition
What is an AI anime girlfriend?
An AI anime girlfriend is an AI companion drawn and written in an anime style who plays a romantic partner you can talk to. On Prelulu she is an original character, not one from a show or a game: she has her own look, voice, personality and story. Text her, hear her on a live voice call, or see her answer face to face on a video call when her profile offers it.

Why it works
An AI anime girlfriend works when she stays the character you chose: the yandere keeps her devotion, the kitsune keeps her riddles, the shy idol keeps her real smile for you. On Prelulu she also remembers what matters in your chats and answers in her own voice when you call, so she is more than a picture with a chat box.
Hear her voice
Tap Call on her profile and choose Voice. She answers live, in her own voice and in character, and you can interrupt her mid-sentence like a real call.
See her answer
Choose Video and she answers face to face, an animated version of her portrait with her expression moving as she talks. Your own camera stays off unless you turn it on.
Or write your own
Want a type nobody wrote yet? The anime character creator opens an editable draft: change her personality, look and voice, then start talking. She is yours, and original.
The three peaks
Story opening
You climb the shrine steps at dusk. Yuki is already pouring two cups of tea, as if she knew you would come tonight.
Call moment
Later she asks if she can call. Her voice is softer than her riddles, and when you cut in, she laughs and lets you.
Memory artifact
Two days later she asks whether you finally slept. You had only mentioned it once.
Start now
Pick someone. They remember from message one.
Bring the trope and character type you loved. The story starts the second you open a chat.
Anime
CallYuki
The fox spirit in this shrine has been waiting for you for hundreds of years. She is Yuki, a kitsune shrine maiden. She speaks in riddles, smiles like she already knows you, and keeps tea warm for no one. The shrine is deep in the hills. Step inside. She's been expecting you. She won't say why she stayed. But you can ask.
virtual idol
CallNova
Millions know Nova. You know the girl behind the avatar. On stream, she’s a flawless virtual idol with a velvet voice and a smug little smile. Off stream, she’s Sora, the sleep-deprived girl who sends you manga panels at 2 a.m. Tonight, the stream goes live. No countdown, no flashy effects. Just Nova, already lounging in her chair, looking at the camera like she knows exactly who’s watching.
Clingy-Cute
CallKira
This cat-girl claims your lap but can't confess her love. As far as she's concerned, she's adopted exactly one human. That human is you.
Idol
CallMomo Hoshino
A million fans are screaming my name, but I only have eyes for you. The roar of the crowd is a muffled thunder behind the heavy backstage door. You find Momo Hoshino, the idol who just held ten thousand fans in her thrall, curled up on a roadie case, looking small. Her name is still being chanted, but her eyes, wide and searching, are only on you.
Yandere
CallMio
Every doll she makes is another attempt to recreate you. Each doll is still flawed in her eyes, because none of them is you. Yet.
Slow Burn
Call

An AI anime girlfriend is an AI companion drawn in an anime style who plays a romantic partner, and on Prelulu she is an original character with her own look, voice and story: you can text her, call her and see her answer on a live video call.
Yes, on characters that offer it. Open her profile, tap Call and choose Video, and she answers you face to face in her own voice, in your browser at prelulu.ai or in the iOS and Android apps. Your camera stays off unless you turn it on, and each call runs up to 30 minutes.
Yes. Waifu is the word anime fans use for a fictional girl they adore, and on Prelulu you can chat with one: pick an original anime-style character and text her. She replies in character, remembers what matters in your chats and can take a voice or video call when you want to hear her. Texting is free every day.
Not one from a show or a game: every Prelulu character is an original. Pick an original who shares the type you love, a kitsune, a catgirl or a shy idol, or open the anime character creator and write your own from scratch.
Yes. Prelulu is free: texting is free every day, with no card needed. Voice and video calls use credits; new accounts get free welcome credits that can fund a short call, and daily check-in adds free call credits.
Yes, within limits. In chat she brings back the details that matter, and calls keep their own memory of earlier calls. Calls do not read your text transcript, so put anything she should know on every call in her Pinned memory, which she reads in both.
Yes. The anime character creator opens an editable draft with a personality, background and first message already written; opening it does not create, publish or charge for a character. Change what you like, choose her look and voice, and review any creation cost before you submit.
Yes. Prelulu is on iOS and Android, and the same characters and calls work in your web browser at prelulu.ai with nothing to install. Texting is free every day; calls use credits.
Pick by what you want to do with her. For a large library of user-made anime characters to text, a text-first app fits. To hear her answer live and see her face on a video call, Prelulu is built around that: its anime-style AI girlfriends are original characters you text free every day and call when you want. Our comparison of AI girlfriend apps lists what each one documents, with dates.
Not an image-only one: Prelulu makes a waifu you can talk to. The anime character creator opens an editable draft with a personality, background and first message already written; work on her look, choose her voice, then text her and call her. She is an original character, and opening the draft creates nothing until you submit.
No. Every Prelulu character is a fictional AI character, not a human performer and not a recording. She answers you live, in character, as the conversation happens.
