Choosing between Jupi and Prelulu is a choice between a game and a conversation. Jupi gives you a life to run, with jobs, homes, mini-games and a town of residents; Prelulu gives you a character to talk to, by text, by voice and, on supported characters, face to face.
Jupi wraps its residents in jobs, homes, shopping, quests and mini-games. Prelulu is built around the conversation itself: you open a character and talk, which suits you if the conversation was the part you came for.
Jupi's residents talk by voice. On Prelulu, supported characters can also answer on a live avatar video call, and your own camera stays off until you enable it.
Jupi's website describes it as an app for iPhone and iPad. Prelulu runs in the browser at prelulu.ai and has iPhone and Android apps.

Its terms, last updated August 17, 2026, set a minimum age and say minors are not permitted even with parental consent, and its US App Store page carries an age rating. The terms say Jupi applies safety filters, including OpenAI's moderation tools, to detect and block sexual content, self-harm, illicit activity and violence, and that no filtering system is perfect. Its listing says every resident is AI-generated and fictional. Deletion requests are processed within 72 hours, but public characters you made stay on the service under an anonymous "Deleted User".
