Tipsy Chat Pricing and Gems, Explained

Tipsy Chat does not require a subscription to chat: its own FAQ says gems pay for chats and can be earned free through check-ins, missions, coin exchange and events. The surprise is the variable cost. The same FAQ says using more memory raises the gems each message costs, and Pinned Memory is a subscription feature. Here is the model in plain English, and how Prelulu's free daily text compares.

Definition

How does Tipsy Chat pricing work?

Tipsy runs on a gem balance rather than a single subscription gate. Blue gems are the monthly allowance included with a subscription and reset on the refresh date; red gems are purchased or earned and stay permanently. Chats and generation spend blue gems first, then red. A subscription adds monthly gems and features such as unlimited Inspirations, more Role Card slots, priority image generation and Pinned Memory, but the FAQ says no subscription is required to chat as long as the account has gems.

Why it works

The cost is not one number. It moves with how you use the app, which is why two people can pay very different amounts for the same story.

The per-message cost can rise

Tipsy's FAQ says the more memory a message actually uses, the more gems it costs, even before the Max Memory Limit is reached. A long-running story can therefore cost more per message than a new one.

Pinned Memory is a paid feature

The FAQ lists Pinned Memory as a subscription benefit: it is not available on the free plan. Prelulu keeps a pinned note available without a gem purchase.

Blue gems expire monthly

Blue gems are the subscription allowance and reset on the refresh date; red gems are the permanent balance. The FAQ tells subscribers to spend blue gems first or lose them.

A free text baseline on Prelulu

Prelulu's text chat includes a daily free message allowance forever and no gem system. Paid plans remove the daily limit; live voice and video calls use credits.
