AI Story Chat: Interactive Stories Where the Character Answers

An interactive story with AI is a story you move by talking back: you write or say what your character does, and the character answers in role, so the scene continues instead of ending on a page. On Prelulu you start in text with an original fictional character, then keep the same story on a live voice call, or on video when the character supports it. Texting is free every day; calls use credits.

Start now

Pick someone. They remember from message one.

Bring the trope and character type you loved. The story starts the second you open a chat.

What is an AI interactive story?

An AI interactive story is fiction you play rather than read: the AI plays one or more characters, you decide what your character says or does, and the story moves from your choices. On Prelulu the character is an original fictional person with a personality and a first scene, and the same character carries the story from text into a live voice or video call. It is different from a story generator that writes a finished story for you, and different from an AI video story generator that turns a prompt into a rendered video: on Prelulu the story is the conversation, and the video you see is the live character answering you.

Why it works

Start with a scene, not a blank page

Pick a trope or a ready-made scene, or open a character whose first message already sets the story. You answer from inside it.

The character stays in role

The character answers as themselves turn after turn, so the story holds its tone instead of drifting back into assistant voice.

Say the next line out loud

When a moment should be heard, call the character and speak it. They answer in their own voice, live, and you can interrupt mid-sentence.

See the scene when the character offers video

Characters with video available answer face to face, with expressions and a voice that carry the scene. Your camera stays off unless you share it.

The story keeps what mattered

Characters keep selective memory of your chats and calls, so they return to promises and details instead of starting over. Pinned memory is where you put what must always carry.

Questions, answered

An AI interactive story is fiction you play with an AI that plays characters back: you decide what your character says or does, and the story continues from your choices instead of following a fixed page. On Prelulu you start in chat with an original fictional character and can continue the same story on a live voice or video call.

Texting is free every day, with no card needed, and you can read a character's first replies as a guest before making an account. Live voice and video calls use credits from one wallet; new accounts get free welcome credits that can fund a short call.

In the sense that you play by chatting, yes: you pick a character and a scene, say or type what you do, and the character answers in role, so the story goes where you take it. It is not a video game with a map, levels or a score, and the characters are original fictional ones, not game NPCs. Texting is free every day; voice and video calls use credits.

Not currently. Prelulu does not turn a prompt into a generated video story; the story is the conversation, and the video you see is the live character answering you on a call. If generated video stories ship, this page will link the feature rather than claim it today.

You do. You choose the scene, the character and what your character does next, and the AI plays the other side. A character can suggest a direction, but the story does not advance without your turn.

Yes. Open the character you were writing with, tap Call and choose Voice, or Video when the character offers it. The call keeps its own memory of earlier calls, and Pinned memory carries details you need in both chat and calls.

Characters keep selective memory of chats, and calls keep their own memory of earlier calls, so they can bring back a promise or a detail from a previous scene. Memory is not a full transcript; anything that must always carry belongs in the character's Pinned memory.

Yes. Create an original character with a background, personality, first message, look and voice, review it before publishing, and then play stories with it in text and on calls. Public characters are frozen after publication so other readers meet the same character.

A story generator writes a finished story for you, and an AI video story generator renders a video from a prompt. Prelulu does neither: it gives you a character who answers as you play the scene, in chat and on a live call, so the story changes with what you say.

It works the same way in spirit: the story branches from what you choose, except you say or type the choice instead of flipping to a page. On Prelulu you pick a scene or a character, decide what your character does next, and the AI plays the other side turn by turn, in chat and on a call.

You can play a story, but it is not a scored game with levels and a win state: you choose a scene, a character and what happens next, and the character answers in role. Ready-made scenes and tropes give you a starting point, and the same character can continue the story on a live voice or video call.
