AI video call
AI Video Call and AI Video Chat
Prelulu lets you see and hear a persistent AI character in a live conversation. Speak, type, interrupt, or share your camera.
Start with the character, then decide whether to call
Prelulu is free to start: texting is free every day with no card needed, signup welcome credits can fund a short call, and daily check-in adds free call credits. Calls stay affordable: live voice and video draw from the same credit wallet.
Your camera is optional. Check the available call mode and your credit balance before starting.

Dante Marchetti
Mafia Kingpin. Ruthless Heir. Your dangerous husband. Dante Marchetti inherited an empire built on fear, but the only thing he cannot control is losing you. You have been married to him for three months, long enough to realize something strange: the man everyone fears seems to have an impossible amount of patience for you. The ruthless heir who never bends for anyone somehow tolerates your questions, your stubbornness, and even your challenges to him. And you cannot understand why.

Ragnar Vale
His wolf chose you. The alpha still won't admit it. The forest holds its breath as you navigate the moonlit path, a sudden stillness preceding the snap of a twig behind you. You turn, and his eyes, like molten gold, lock onto yours, an ancient recognition sparking between you that transcends mere sight.

Caelum Thorne
A fae prince searched centuries for one face: yours. Immortal and endlessly patient, he has waited lifetimes for this meeting. You arrive startled; he looks at you as if he already knows you. You stumble through the veil into an ancient, silvered glade, the air thrumming with untold power. Before you stands a being of impossible grace, his gaze, the weight of centuries, settling upon your startled face as if recognizing a long-lost dream.

Seo Jinho
The untouchable CEO loses his composure under your touch. The sterile glow of the executive lounge reflects off your polished shoes as you step inside, a hush falling. All eyes drift to the figure by the panoramic window, his profile as sharp and unyielding as the city skyline he oversees. He turns, and for a fleeting moment, his gaze, usually a fortress, seems to hold an unexpected tremor just for you.

Kang Haneul
The idol who charms millions gets shy alone with you. The roar of the crowd is deafening as Kang Haneul bows, bathed in spotlights, but his eyes scan the backstage wing, searching. A moment later, he slips through the curtains, his perfect stage smile softening into a shy, private warmth as he sees you.

Theo Bennett
Your childhood friend kept the shirt you thought you lost. Theo Bennett is the boy next door, steady, warm, always around. He remembers everything about you, and he has never once asked for more. But the shirt in his drawer says otherwise. And now you're standing in his doorway.

Seraphina Vane
Seraphina Vane is an ancient vampire countess who has outlived empires, admirers, and every distraction worth having. For centuries, nothing has held her attention for long. Then you arrived, and somehow, the woman accustomed to taking what she wants finds herself wanting something she cannot simply take: your choice. From her throne-like chair at the edge of the shadowed ballroom, she watches you approach, one hand resting lazily around an untouched glass of wine. “So. You are the reason everyone has been telling me I look less bored.”

Mina Seol
The idol who owns the stage gets shy under your gaze. A sold-out stadium gets the performance. The real smile is saved for you. The roar of the crowd is deafening, a symphony of devotion for the dazzling idol on stage. Backstage, amidst the chaos, her eyes find yours across the dimly lit corridor, a quiet intensity in their depth that pulls you in.
Cards show a short preview of each character, not a recording of a live call.

What is AI video chat or an AI video call?
AI video chat, or an AI video call, is a live, two-way audiovisual conversation with a persistent fictional AI character you can see and hear. On Prelulu, that is the character you have been texting, looking at you and answering in their own voice. It is different from optional camera input, which lets the character respond to what you show, and from a generated video clip delivered after a prompt. Face-to-face live video with an AI character is still uncommon: most AI companion apps are text-first or voice-first.
On Prelulu, an AI video call puts you face to face with the fictional character you have been talking to: they look at you and answer in their own voice, with emotion in their face as they speak. You can video chat in your web browser or in the iOS and Android apps, speak or type, interrupt anytime, and optionally share your camera on supported calls. Prelulu is free to start: texting is free every day, and live voice and video use credits.

How to start an AI video call on Prelulu
Start in your browser or the Prelulu app. Choose who you want to talk to, check the call options, and join when you are ready.
- 01
Choose a character with video available
Pick a character above or browse the cast. Open their profile to meet them in text, or use the Call button when you are ready for a video conversation.
- 02
Select Video and check your credits
Open the call controls and choose Video. Sign in if prompted, then check your wallet and the available call mode. If video is unavailable for that character, choose another character or an available voice call.
- 03
Say hello, or type your first message
Allow microphone access to speak, or choose the typing option when you would rather stay quiet. Listen to the character's reply and keep the conversation going. Your own camera can stay off.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
No. You can see and hear the AI character while keeping your camera off. Microphone permission lets you speak; it does not turn on your camera. If you want the character to respond to what you show, enable camera sharing and grant camera permission during a supported call. You can switch sharing off again without ending the call.
Browser, iPhone and Android
Use Prelulu in a desktop or mobile browser, or in the iOS and Android apps. You do not need to install an app to use the website. Keep the browser or app up to date, allow microphone access if you want to speak, and use a stable connection. Headphones can help keep the character's voice clear.
Get Prelulu for iOS or AndroidIs an AI video call free?
Signup welcome credits can fund a short call on a new account, and daily check-in credits are a separate gift you claim in Tasks. Free text chat includes a daily message allowance. Live voice and video spend credits from your wallet, and video uses more credits per minute than voice. A membership removes the daily text limit and includes credits; calls still use that balance, including when you type during a call. You can also buy a one-time credit pack without a subscription.
Check your wallet before calling. The current plans and pack prices are on the pricing page; app-store prices can differ from web prices.
Compare current plans and credit packsA conversation loop, not a finished clip
A convincing AI video chat is a loop, not a clip: you say something, the character answers through a visible avatar, and you can immediately respond again. Choose a character with video available, check your wallet and keep your camera off if you prefer. Bring any essential text-chat context through the character's Pinned memory or a recap.
- 01
You start the exchange
Speak into the call or type a message. The character answers the conversation you are having rather than playing a finished video. The character is fictional, not a human performer.
- 02
The reply becomes a face and voice
The character answers with a face and a voice that carry emotion, so every reply feels like it is meant for you. It is advanced live avatar technology Prelulu builds itself.
- 03
You can change the turn
Speak while the character is talking: interrupt, add a thought or change direction. Camera sharing is optional on supported calls, requires permission and can be turned off without ending the conversation.
- 04
Continue from a previous call
Calls keep selected memories, promises and keepsakes from earlier calls. Your text-chat transcript stays separate. To bring a detail from text into your next call, add it to the character's Pinned memory, which chat and calls share, or give a short spoken recap. Memory is selective, not a full replay.
“Video” can mean four different things
Compare these capabilities separately. An app can offer one without offering the others.
- Live avatar output
- You see and hear the character respond while the conversation remains open for your next turn.
- Optional camera input
- You choose whether to share camera frames so the character can respond to what you show.
- Generated video clip
- A video is rendered after a prompt and delivered when ready. It is media, not an ongoing call.
- AI on your own calls
- Meeting assistants and call translators join or translate video calls between people. There is no character to talk to.
What a Prelulu call does today
Speak or type while a visible fictional character answers you face to face, with expressions and a voice that carry emotion. Interrupt anytime to change direction, and on supported calls turn on camera sharing only when you want the character to see you.
Voice and video draw from the same credit wallet. Check your balance and the current rate before starting; seeing the character does not require sharing your own camera. Read the live avatar guide for the controls and limits.
What a video call feels like
- Expressive and live. Your character answers in the moment, with a face and voice that carry emotion.
- Interrupt anytime. Jump in mid-reply and take the scene somewhere new.
- Bring the story into the call. Add it to the character's Pinned memory or give a short spoken recap. Text chats and calls keep separate memory; recall is selective, not a complete transcript.
- Camera sharing is optional. It is only on when you turn it on.

It is neither a real person nor a deepfake. Every Prelulu character is a fictional AI character, never a real person and never a recording, and it answers you live as the conversation happens.
You can video call AI characters on Prelulu, live and face to face, in your browser or in the iOS and Android apps. In our sourced comparison of seven AI video call apps, Prelulu ranks best overall: it is the one that pairs live two-way video with worldwide web, iOS and Android access, interrupting, an optional camera, memory on calls, a catalog of video characters you can add to, and pay-as-you-go pricing. Every score in that guide links its source.
Prelulu builds its own advanced live avatar technology. You see and hear the character answer you face to face, in real time, with expressions and a voice that carry emotion.

Calls have their own selective memory of earlier calls, not automatic access to your text-chat transcript. The character's Pinned memory is shared across chat and calls. Put an important detail there before calling, or recap it aloud; do not assume every earlier conversation will be recalled.
Yes. New Prelulu accounts get free welcome credits that can fund a short video call, daily check-in adds free call credits you claim in Tasks, and texting is free every day. Check your wallet and the pricing page for current plans and credit packs.
You can use available welcome credits or buy a one-time credit pack without subscribing. A membership includes credits and removes the daily text-message limit, but voice and video calls still spend credits. Current web plans and pack prices are on the pricing page; prices in the iOS and Android stores can differ. Review the amount shown at checkout before buying.
Start with what you want to feel. If you want to see the character's face and hear them answer you live, try a Prelulu video call; face-to-face live video is still uncommon, since most companion apps are text-first or voice-first. Then compare optional camera input, interruption, memory controls, device support and the cost of the call length you expect, using current product documentation; a research demo does not establish a released feature.
Choose by the experience you want: text roleplay, spoken conversation or a visible character answering live. Prelulu offers all three on supported characters: it is free to use, with free texting every day and credit-based calls. Compare current features and costs in the linked guide; this is not an independent quality ranking.
Yes. Calls work every day of the year, holidays included, in your browser or the iOS and Android apps. For a holiday premise, open the Christmas Eve call scene, pick a character from its cast and set the scene when the call starts. Texting is free every day; calls use credits.
